Crown Town Wiffle Weekend

Join Dayton Moore & Friends for the 2nd Annual Wiffle ball tournament to benefit the “C” You In The Major Leagues Foundation!

July 12-13, 2019

Urban Youth Academy & “The Little K” ♦ Kansas City, MO

Crown Town Wiffle Weekend is a Wiffle ball tournament fundraiser open to 32 teams of varying levels. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year to support our C-10 Mentoring & Leadership Program, as well as other areas of need in the Kansas City area.

Not sure if Wiffle is your thing, though? Haven’t swung the good ol’ thin yellow bat since the 1970s, but you want to give it a try again? No problem, we have the Monarchs Division for teams that are out there for some competitive fun. Is your team full of former college baseball or softball players and your goal is to win the whole thing? No problem, we have the Royals Division for those teams that have players who’ll hide in their basements for a few days if they don’t win it. Ultimately, our goal is simply to have fun while helping people in our community. If you’re still not convinced, here are a few photos from the 2018 event.

The cost for the tournament starts at $2,500 for teams of 8-12 players, men or women or co-ed, of all skill levels, from 14 years old and up. (You can have up to 16 players, but there’ll be a $250 per player charge for numbers 13-16.) Teams can pay with a check or credit card, or take advantage of peer-to-peer fundraising through a page on this site. Either way, the basic $2,500 fee is not due until June 1, 2019!

NEW IN 2019!

This year the tournament will be held on one afternoon/night at the Urban Youth Academy, after a special leadership lunch at the UYA. And then on Saturday morning, we’ll take the games to Kauffman Stadium’s Little K! That’s where we’ll play the division championship games, as well as the Sponsor and Celebrity game.

What else is new? For the Monarchs Division, the more recreational of the two divisions, teams will provide their own pitcher. In the Royals Division, for the more serious teams, games will be played more like “real” baseball. (More details on the rules will be posted here soon.)
