THANK YOU for this family!

The following was a letter sent to our donors on behalf of C-10 mentor, Adrienne Harmon. It helps to show the impact of each donor’s gift to C You In The Major Leagues.

YOU have had an incredible impact on my life, so I just wanted to write a short note to say THANK YOU for being a donor to C You In The Major Leagues.

Because of your support, I joined C You In The Major Leagues as a mentor in the C-10 Mentoring & Leadership program three years ago, after feeling called to become more involved in my community.

During a conversation with my good friend and fellow mentor, Steve, I was introduced to the program’s mission of walking alongside high school students—helping them build confidence, step outside their comfort zones, set meaningful goals, and understand that challenges and setbacks do not define them, but strengthen their character.

As I reflected on my own high school experience and how impactful it would have been to have a program like C-10 and a dedicated mentor during that season of my life, I knew I wanted to be part of C-10.

You allowed me to become a mentor to support students, never anticipating that this program, made possible by your generosity, would in turn have a profound impact on my own life.

On February 7, 2025, my world stopped when I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. I was just two weeks shy of my 38th birthday and had no prior medical history. I exercised regularly, lived a health conscious lifestyle, and worked as a nurse, making the diagnosis both shocking and overwhelming.

Questions and fear quickly set in…How could this happen? How did I miss the signs? How did it progress so far before being detected? Will I survive?

In the midst of that fear, the C-10 community showed up in powerful and deeply meaningful ways.

Kramer Kreiling, the C-10 Coordinator, was truly an angel during the days leading up to my diagnosis. She was the first person I confided in about my need for testing—before I even told my family. She provided a safe space where I did not have to be brave and where I could process everything without the pressure to appear strong or composed.

I vividly remember one C-10 session in particular when Kramer cried with me, embraced me, and reassured me that everything would be okay. It was after that moment that I found the courage to face my diagnosis head-on and begin what has been the hardest fight of my life.

When I didn’t have the strength to share my diagnosis myself, Kramer became my voice and shared it with the C-10 community.

In true C-10 fashion, the mentors rallied around me and have continued to cheer me on every step of the way.

Through countless medical appointments, 20 weeks of chemotherapy, three surgeries, and 21 radiation treatments, their support never wavered.

When treatment left me too exhausted to attend meetings, mentors checked in regularly with encouragement. When I needed transportation to chemo, fellow C-10 mentor Laurie not only drove me, but cleared her schedule to stay with me for the entire day. She even provided coffee and snacks!

These moments reflect how the values instilled by C-10 — made possible by your gifts to C You In The Major Leagues — are lived out in real and tangible ways.

My gratitude extends beyond the mentors. It goes to the students, who have been a tremendous blessing in my life. Watching them grow into confident leaders and celebrating their successes motivated me throughout my fight. They filled my tank on days when my energy was depleted. Spending Wednesdays with them provided a sense of normalcy — one where cancer was not at the forefront of my mind.

And, of course, my gratitude extends to YOU.

Your investment in C You In The Major Leagues creates ripples of impact you may never fully see. Not only are you connecting students and mentors — you are building a community rooted in compassion and courage (two of our 10 C words), where people genuinely care for and champion one another, where
support flows in all directions, and where no one faces adversity alone.

THANK YOU for your generosity, your belief in this mission, and for making C You In The Major Leagues what it is.

Because of you, lives are being shaped, strengthened, and supported.

Because of you, C-10 exists — and I am incredibly thankful.

Adrienne Harmon
C-10 Mentor
