What Role Do Mentors Play?

Mentors are the backbone of our program! Mentors, whether they are one-on-one with a student or a pinch hitter (fill-in mentor), offer guidance, support, and encouragement to students, helping them navigate academic and personal challenges while fostering leadership skills.

What Do Mentors Do?

With the help of a structured curriculum, mentors engage with students during C-10 sessions on a variety of topics, including:
• Character Development
• Service Projects
• Job and College Applications
• Public Speaking
• Life Skills

What Are the Expectations for Mentors?

Commit to at least two hours each week with your mentee

Serve as a positive role model

Encourage a drug and alcohol-free lifestyle

Support students in maintaining their academic performance

Weekly Commitment

We do ask one-on-one mentors to make a weekly commitment during the school year, so mentors should be prepared to meet weekly and engage meaningfully with their mentees. However, there are student-only sessions each quarter, and we have “pinch hitters” (substitute mentors) available when a mentor can’t attend.
