C-10 Podcast: Gene Watson, Ep. 8

This week we sit down during a break at our sixth annual baseball camp at the Jewish Community Center with Gene Watson, the Kansas City Royals’ Director of Pro Scouting. Gene, who joined the Royals in 2006, takes a swing at our “7 Questions” before talking about what he’s learned about leadership from Dayton Moore, how the most pivotal trade for the Royals’ 2014 and ’15 postseason runs came to be, and the importance of mentoring.

Before joining the Royals in 2006, Gene was with the then-Florida Marlins following stops in Texas, San Diego and Atlanta, where he and Dayton worked together. Gene, who grew up in Texas, played collegiately at the University of Texas-Arlington.
